Overload...

It's been a week since I've posted, and I feel like I need to share something. However, I have no idea what, or where to begin. Right now I have completely overloaded my brain....with project ideas, lists, scripture verses that I am trying to memorize, prayer requests, and more ideas. I'm pretty sure there is smoke rolling out my ears right now. This morning during my prayer time, I came across this verse. It basically sums up what God has placed on my heart several years ago...being the hands & feet of Jesus.
2 Chronicles 7:14

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Living in a country with so much, it's sometimes hard to imagine that there could possibly be people out there that are actually hurting. One thing I've learned is that 'hurt' doesn't look the same on everyone. Which, in turn means that 'healing' will also look different. The bible tells us that we are to help those in need. Give to those who lack, care for the orphan and the widow. Or, as we read in Matthew, where Jesus says "do unto the least of these". I am quickly learning that none of these things are limited to physical lacking, but they also include spiritual lacking. I don't know about you, but I know plenty of people who are not lacking in the area of things...but they still have big hurts because they are lacking spiritually.

I'm not sure where I wanted to go with this post, exactly...but when I read this scripture this morning, I found it very encouraging. He wants to heal us, and heal our land, we just need to stay in communication with Him. So, what does hurt look like to you? How can God use you to heal our land? How can you be the hands & feet of Jesus?

So true, Jerri! Thanks for the challenge. I'm excited to see how doors will open (or maybe our eyes will just be opened) to see/serve those around us.
